PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

Aloha HJJCC Members,

It is an honor to serve as the 75th President of the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce. I am so grateful to be able to continue the mission and legacy of those who created this organization 75 years ago.

The HJJCC was established with the goal of providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, fostering leadership skills and giving back to the community through our many community service opportunities. We also celebrate and preserve the Japanese culture in Hawaii through our biggest project, The Cherry Blossom Festival which was created in 1953. We provide membership and sports events that allow our members to network and create bonds with others. Our members are able to professionally develop by learning from various speakers at our Young Business Roundtable events and continue to strengthen the bonds with our Japan Sister Chapters through International Relations events. Members grow into leaders through opportunities with Management Development programs.

Thank you to the Board of Directors and their committee members, who selflessly sacrifice their free time to plan and organize all of our events. It is through their hard work, dedication, and passion that we are able to provide these incredible opportunities for our members and continue to grow our membership base.

As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, it's important to reflect on how far we have come, while also looking ahead at the future of the HJJCC. We must continue to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of our members, while staying true to the core values that have guided this organization for decades—leadership, community, culture, and service.

Thank you for your trust and commitment to the HJJCC. I am very excited for this year and hope to see all of you at our upcoming events! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at president@hjjcc.com.

Mahalo,
Heather Furutani
